Matthew Enterprises, Incorporated was formed in August of 2001 as the parent company for Barcode. The company was named in honor and memory of Matthew Shepard who was brutally murdered in Wyoming for simply being gay. While there is in no way any intention of this company to profit from Mr. Shepard's name or misfortune, Matthew Enterprises, Incorporated will contribute 5% of NOPAT profits annually to the foundation set up by his parents.

It is the mission of this company to provide gay men and women with the opportunities to excel and achieve their individual goals in life, while working in a gay friendly atmosphere that is profit oriented. It is my dream that each person who works for this company, and achieves their goals in life, will in some way always honor the life of Matthew Shepard.
